The service

true16 is a self-reflection personality profile. By using it you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy.

Not a clinical service

A portrait is for self-understanding. It is not medical, psychological, or psychiatric advice, and it is not a diagnosis. Do not use it for hiring, school placement, legal, or clinical decisions. If you might act on thoughts of suicide, or you are in immediate danger, call or text 988 in the US, call Lifeline on 13 11 14 in Australia, or find a helpline for your country at findahelpline.com.

Accounts

An inquiry does not require an account. An account requires an email you confirm, and a password of at least 8 characters with a letter and a number. You can also sign in from a link or 6-digit code we email you, or with Google or Apple. You are responsible for that login. One person per account. Do not share it, resell it, or use it to scrape the inquiries.

Membership

Your archetype and every vector score are free. Membership is $8 a month, billed by Stripe, and it renews at that same price until you unsubscribe. There is no trial and no later increase. Checkout states the price again before you pay.

Unsubscribe from the unsubscribe page. That stops the next charge. Your dossiers stay open through the end of the cycle you already paid for. Refunds are described on the refund page.

Age

You must be at least 16. If you are under 18, use the site with a parent or guardian.

Our writing, and yours

The original prompts, archetypes, dossiers, and design belong to true16. You receive a personal, non-transferable license to take the inquiry and read your own portraits. You do not receive a license to copy the prompt banks or republish the dossiers.

No promised outcome

A portrait depends on how you answer on a given day. We do not promise a change in your work, your relationships, your health, or any other outcome.

Stopping access

We may close an account that breaks these terms or that we reasonably believe is being used for fraud. Amounts already owed stay owed.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that affects an active membership, the date at the top of this page will change. Continuing to use the site after that is acceptance of the new terms.
